To call the first cellphone "mobile" was a bit of a joke--Motorola's original model in 1973 weighed in at a hefty 2.5 pounds. But since their commercial debut in the 1980s, mobile phones have morphed dramatically in size, function, color and style. These days, phones are as much a fashion accessory as they are technogear.
